The House

A Mountain Base for Digital Nomads/Remote Workers

The UNESCO protected citadel of Briançon, aka “Cité Vauban”, feels like a village within the town. It has its own ecosystem and people living there are referred to as “gargouillards”. The citadel’s narrow streets host many cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, art galleries, and other wonders. Various guided historical/cultural visits are organized on a regular basis by the city.

Common spaces

Cloud Citadel is located at the edge of the fortifications with unobstructed views down the valley. It is the former residence of the military governor of Briançon. We renovated the house to make it comfy, functional and to add a modern touch to it, while keeping its historical character.

The bedrooms are on the first and third floors, and the whole second floor is dedicated to common spaces, including a shared fully equipped kitchen, a dining room with two large tables, a chill room with comfy couches, two coworking spaces with ergonomic chairs and soon a skype room. The house also has a washing room on the first floor (washing machine + tumble dryer), and a big workout room on the third floor (with yoga matts).

Our Rooms

We named our rooms after planets of the solar system, we tought it would sound better than numbers. All private rooms are equipped with a luxury memory foam mattress (Emma), a desk and a closet/wardrobe. We build mezzanines in our dorm room to create four sleeping pods/cabins that can be closed with curtains to ensure privacy. They also integrate a nightstand/locker and other storages. All rooms have a view on the mountains and receive a lot of light.

Private Room Double Bed (Ensuite Bath.)

Mars is our largest room. It is equipped with a big double bed, private ensuite fully renovated bathroom and a big desk. It has a view on Mont Prorel, the ski lift of Serre-Chevalier, and the whole Guisane valley, perfect side for sunsets.

Private Rooms Double Bed (Shared Bath.)

Mercury, Venus and Earth : These rooms are intended for 1-2 people. They are equipped with double beds, a desk, and a closet/wardrobe. We planned enough shared bathrooms to make sure everyone is comfortable.

Private Rooms Single Bed (Shared Bath.)

Eris and Pluto are the smallest but the cutest rooms of the house. The first gets a lot of light with its two windows (south and west), and the second has an old fire place in marble and one window (south). They are equipped with a single bed, a desk, a closet/wardrobe.

Dorm Room

Neptune is the room we are the most proud of. We built mezzanines in wood to create four sleeping pods/cabins with closable curtains to ensure privacy for everyone. Each pod is equipped with a small lamp, a usb socket, a nightstand/locker and extra storage.
